Work Experience and Internships

Spark!’s Work Experience Service gives students the opportunity to take part in high quality work experience during Key Stage 4 or 5, as a central part of the school's careers programme.

We offer a range of different models to suit the needs of the school, from standard and industry specific week long placements, to one-day Industry Insight days, which are popular for younger students.

Work experience placements give students a valuable insight into the world of work, and the opportunity to learn new skills and develop their independence and self-confidence. Enhanced work experience programmes are available for those students undertaking sector specialisms or applied courses, such as BTECs or other post-16 qualifications.

Spark! has a network of hundreds of businesses, from local high street businesses to international organisations, all of whom are excited to work with young people from their local area and grow local talent.

Our Work Experience programme 'The Way to Work' is designed to support schools and colleges through two distinct strands.

If you are a company interested in hosting young people on work experience placement, or you would welcome a conversation about how it works, please complete this very short Expression of Interest form, and we will be in touch with you very soon afterwards.

Please note that for contractual and insurance reasons we do not presently accept direct commissions from parents, guardians or young people to organise work experience placements. If you would like our support, please introduce us to the Work Experience Co-ordinator or Careers Lead at your school or college.
